Sneak PEEK : Have a Heart for Haiti Collection

Preview of Vangarde Girls first collection Have a Heart for Haiti.  The collection consists of stretch beaded bracelets.  Wear them alone or stack them up like pictured above.  The bracelets above retail from $5 to $6.   The collection will be available for sale in September up until January 12, 2011.  40% of all proceeds will be donated to CROSE.

The Regional Coordination of South East, CROSE, was founded in 1996 on the initiative of a group of individuals who hoped to promote new methods of thinking about regional and local development and also about more coherent organizational practices. An association bringing together 15 various movements present throughout the country (coffee producers cooperatives, school networks, womens' groups, fishermen, livestock rearers, farmers), CROSE is active in three particular fields:

Buy A Bracelet and Change A Woman's Life

SAME SKY’s first project employs HIV+ women in Rwanda who survived the 1994 Genocide. Instead of a hand out, we give these women a  hand up and a chance to rebuild their lives. The bracelets are handmade by these women artisans. By buying a bracelet, you become a part of the movement empowering women everywhere under the SAME SKY.

Fashion Has A Heart: Nine West and CFDA for Breast Cancer

I love, love, love this CFDA + Nine West Collaboration.  Nine West has created a limited edition boot with a built-in pedometer.  The purpose of this shoe is to track how many steps popular modes Jessica White, Coco Rocha and Lisa Montenegro will take during New York Fashion Week.  They will be tracked from fittings to parties to daily errands.  With each step taken Nine West will make a monetary donation to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.  All I have to say is walk ladies walk and raise those funds.  What a cool idea!  And if you happen to bump into one of these ladies why not chase them down a few blocks in the name of breast cancer.

Have a Heart: Be A Whistle Blower for PEACE

As much as I love fashion I love giving back and promoting a good cause.  Beyonce and Gwenyth Paltrow have been photographed wearing whistle pendants.  While most people think it's just a trend, however these ladies are supporting a cause and making the statement they are whistle blowers for peace.  Photos courtesy Daniel/Mauceri/INF and popsugar.com.
