Primal Instinct

Innately drawn to bright colors and anything tribal it was only natural I fell in love with Kelis's Acapella video.

Below are some of my favorite tribal inspired pieces.
(all photographs are property of the vangarde girls, if you would like to use any of the photos we must be credited)

H&M Beaded Drop Earrings, $3.50. These earrings are not for the shy, this is a statement piece which draws eyes on you. Since your ears are located on both sides of your face I wouldn't recommend wearing these earrings on a bad day(you know...one of those days you wake up with a new friend on your face).

H&M Beaded Bangles, $3.00 for a set of 5. Pictured above are 2 sets; one solid and one multi mixed together. If you're bold, try stacking four sets of bangles on one arm.

I acquired this necklace through an accessories swap with my bff. I have no clue as to how much or where it was purchased. I've had this necklace for over 5 years now, which means I absolutely adore this piece. I'm notorious for misplacing and losing jewelry within a week of purchase.

Sam Edelman High Heel Galdiator, $138.95. You can't be queen of the jungle without a pair of gladiators or as my friend Gigi says "jesus sandals". This was an impulse purchase made at Bloomingdales, NYC 59th street location. The heels are chunky so I can spend the day walking around painless all day without losing balance. They are currently on sale for $76.42 atendless.com. with free two day shipping. Maybe I should get another pair, I hate when I ruin a good shoe and the designer discontinues the style.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Party Girl Bag, $398.00. Hmmmmm, I will start of by saying I am a Marc by Marc Jacobs aficionado. I sported this bag like it was about to go out of style until I purchased a new party girl bag. I will post my new bag in the near future.

Last, but not least my new favorite body con dress. H&M Fashion for Aids Collection. I climbed Mont Everest in order to find this dress, it was sold out at almost all the H&M locations in NYC. Okay, maybe I didn't climb Mont Everest but it was tiring going from store to store. Some stores didn't even carry the collection and V Girl Morgan couldn't even find the pieces she wanted from the collection.

Extra: Tribal Lips

I'm not a make-up artist nor do I know a lot about make-up however, I like to toy around with concepts from time to time. From watching lots of movies I notices most tribes depicted have special markings connected to a meaning/way of life. The marking I created on my lips represent one of my new practices of speaking no evil. I am a believer in the laws of attraction.

What you will need:
Lipstick (any color)
Lip Liner (make sure it's darker than your lipstick)
Lip Moisturizer.

Step one: Apply lip moisturizer.
Step two: Apply lipstick.
Step three: Draw and pencil in markings exactly how you see them appear on my lips. (or you can create your own design)

Hope you enjoyed the first post :)
