Must See Documentary: Bill Cunningham New York

BY VANGARDE GIRL NELLE, MARCH 20, 2011

Bill Cunnigham New York officially opened on March 16, 2011 at the Film Forum here in New York City.  The film will run until March 29th, 2011.  82 year old Cultural Anthropologist, Bill Cunningham has been documenting street style and fashion trends for over a decade for the New York Times Style in his columns "On the Street" and "Evening Hours".   Zeitgeist Films states "Bill Cunningham New York is a delicate, funny and often poignant portrait of a dedicated artist whose only wealth is his own humanity and unassuming grace."

 Mr Cunningham on Fashion Trends...
"See I don’t decide anything. I let the street speak to me. And in order for the street to speak to you, you’ve got to stay out there and see what it is! You don’t just manufacture in your head that skirts at the knee are the thing, and you go out and photograph people with skirts at the knee. You’ve got to stay on the street and let the street tell YOU what it is. There’s no shortcuts, believe me."

THIS PARTY IS FREE FOR EVERYONE, DONT MISS OUT!!

Spike Lee Directed my favorite Michael Jackson song "They Don't Really Care About Us".  The first version of the video hardly got any air time and the label suggested a second video be shot in brazil since they were not in love with the first version.   R.I.P MJ
