Keep it in the Family like "Modern Family"

I must admit if I'm not home on Wednesday night by 9pm. It's not a problem because I've already set my DVR for 9pm on ABC. What am I recording you might ask, Modern Family. I am super obsessed with that show, it's funny, entertaining, and I enjoy every single character from the young to old. 

One of the youngest members on the show actor Rico Rodriguez, 12 years old, has launch a clothing line along with his sister Raini. The line is called Rar It Fitz Fashionz, which consist of tees, hoodies, and hats. I wonder what's next for these two young entrepreneurs.

Dolce and Gabbana is Opening their doors

If you are planning to visit the Dolce and Gabbana store in the near future expect to find other labels besides Dolce and Gabbana. The owners have decided to debut their favorite up-and-coming designer. The collections will be from Yigal Azrouel, Behnaz Sarafpour, Sophie Theallet, and Elisa Palomino, Heather Williams, and Fausto Puglisi. Can't wait to see how this will turn out. Enjoy :)

So as Im surfing the web I came to a halt on this website called Riverisland.com and I must say it's definitely my new love. Everything and I mean everything on this site looks yummy. The best part about River Island is the price, very affordable. Just one problem they don't ship outside of the UK. I am at the point where I would like to contact a relative overseas to have them ship it to me what to do, what to do, what to do. I was debating on going to either Hawaii or United Arab of Emirates during winter break, but Hawaii was winning the battle, due to price in airline tickets but now... I'm just not too sure. I posted a pair of boots on my facebook page and I started to get messages asking about the boots, but I'm afraid it is unattainable at the moment at least for us in the States. But don't worry once we get more information about them crossing over to ours you'll definitely be the first to know. Check out some looks. And remember you got the name here first.

Twin brothers Dee and Ricky famous for their Lego jewelry recently created a Chanel-inspired lipstick brooch.  Limited is an understatement as there were only 50 brooches produced, retailing at $65.00.  Brooches have magnetic backing so no worries about damaging your clothing.  If you want to get your hands on this brooch email  Ricky and Dee for more information.

Rumor is these brooches are not endorsed by Chanel so I am waiting for the law suit to be publicized.  Although very cute I am wondering if the twins did not view this as counterfeiting or maybe permission was granted by Chanel, Im hoping it's the latter.

Kimora Lee: Fired From Baby Phat???

There have been rumors flying around everywhere that Kimora has left Baby Phat however a source states that is not true Kimora was fired.

The source tells NY Post:

"Kimora was going over-budget. She'd pay herself a fee to be in the ads, plus she paid her children fees to appear in ads. It costs thousands of dollars to airbrush her because she's a size 10. Plus, they spent a ton of money on body doubles. They would shoot another model in the clothes, and take Kimora's head and put in on her body."

Vanessa Williams Handbag Launch

Vanessa Williams launched her signature handbag collection yesterday at the legendary Magic Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.  There isn't much info on the collection yet, we'll keep you posted...For now here is a sneak peak.

Her handbags are not my cup of tea but I'm loving her look: statement necklace, bright red polish, printed jumper and natural make-up.  Definitely a look I wold be seen wearing.

Marc Jacobs has released a teaser video for Bang, his new fragrance for men.  This ad came out a while ago and you know as soon as I got my hands on it, it became my wall paper on me cell.  Anyone who knows me can tell you Im head over heals for Marc Jacobs.

Thanks to you tube, vimeo and other video sharing sites designers now have the opportunity to promote their brand through a new medium.  Television advertisements were never part of a designers marketing plan nor budget buying a few seconds on air is extremely costly.  However with you tube you just fund your video upload and abracadabra you can share you campaign with millions of viewers.

Upside: Swarovski will provide these designers with an ample amount of financial support.  This is awesome since producing fashion shows are a major expense which has caused many up and coming designers to go out of business.

Downside: Incorporation of the Swarovski crystals in their designs is a must.  For some designers it will be easy but for other crystals are not an embellishment which coincides with their brand aesthetic.

Congratulation to all the designers, I am curious to see how they incorporate the crystals.  Creative minds are a beautiful...

Fashion Night Out is back and BIGGER than Ever!

Marc Jacobs: Plus Size

Robert Duffy Marc's business partner tweeted:  "We are in talks now. For plus sizes. For all you who seem to know my co. Better than me. Hope it works out. Lighten up!" 

For some this news may be shocking but to me it was predictable. Saks Fifth Avenue announced offering plus sizes, did you think all of a sudden there would be a new set of luxury designers being placed on the Saks Sales sales floors???  Plus size women want the same designers offered to them, it's only natural for designers to quickly react by creating plus size collections.   

For those in disbeleif Duffy later tweeted:  "Listen, we are in the very beginning stages of talking to a partner about plus sizes. Relax. It won't be based on the collection line... Marc and I are building a brand. That's what we do. We will Always have a collection line..."

Brands who are not featured in Saks Fifth Avenue and vertical retailers will also begin to cater to plus sizes in order to compete and gain market share in the luxury plus size apparel market.  The fashion business is evolving...There are always sudden changes in fashion and companies either have to get with it or get lost...

Rosie IN...Emma OUT

After only a year as the face of Burberry Emma Watson's contract will not be renewed.  Her replacement will be model/actress Rosie Huntington-Whitely.  According to several articles Burberry had a 24% sales increase during Emma's advertising campaigns.   In an interview with Britain's the Sun, a source close to the firm stated " Emma was a huge success, everyone expected her to be used again."  I find it strange to drop the face of your campaign that boosts sales.  Aren't sales figures how you tell if your advertisements are successful?  Im wondering if it had anything to do with Watson's recent pixie cut...hmmm

The new face of Burberry, Rosie Huntington-Whitely has modeled for Victoria Secret, Oscar De La Renta, Vera Wang and has graced the cover of UK Vogue.  While searching for pics of Rosie I stumbled upon this pic of her at a re-grand opening of Burberry in 2008.  Maybe she has a solid history with the brand?
