Preview: YSL Fall/Winter 2010-2011 Campaign Video ft Daria Werbowy

I'm loving the dramatic differences in the two looks previewed, from sassy to classy...just like there are two side two every coin there are two side to every woman. The word manifesto derives from the Latin word manifestum, meaning clear or conspicuous.  In this case the previewed looks were both clear and conspicuous.  The looks on Daria definitely attracts attention although having such clean lines and minimalistic aesthetic.  Can't wait to see the full campaign video.

Dior "Shanghai Dreamer" ad campaign

There has been some controversy over Christian Dior's new ad campaign  in China. People are calling the ads racist. The photographer Quentin Shih, who is from China, says otherwise. The photos were meant to be placed on the walls of Dior's reopened boutique in Shanghai. The models in the picture are wearing Spring 2011 couture collection.

I'm predicting Carolina Herrera as H&M's new designer.  The side profile of the woman and the short blonde hair reminds me of Carolina Herrera.  I took a snap shot of the woman's side profile in the video and placed it next to a picture of Carolina Herrera and it seems as I may of hit the nail on the head.  We'll see if Im right on September 9th...

Here is a look at the upcoming seasons collection from H&M. Autumn/Winter is virtually a neutral and basic color palette. Trendy pieces inculded the tailored suit, all over prints, lace-up boots, cross body bag, camel coats and knits.

Marc Jacobs Bang Video Teaser

Marc Jacobs has released a teaser video for Bang, his new fragrance for men.  This ad came out a while ago and you know as soon as I got my hands on it, it became my wall paper on me cell.  Anyone who knows me can tell you Im head over heals for Marc Jacobs.

Thanks to you tube, vimeo and other video sharing sites designers now have the opportunity to promote their brand through a new medium.  Television advertisements were never part of a designers marketing plan nor budget buying a few seconds on air is extremely costly.  However with you tube you just fund your video upload and abracadabra you can share you campaign with millions of viewers.

America's Next Top Model Cycle 13 Winner Nicole Fox

Majority of the girls who win America's Next Top Model usually get swept under the rug or vanish into thin air.  The only winner I've constantly head about over the years is Eva.  Cycle 13 winner Nicole Fox has actually landed a deal with Forever 21's Heritage 1981 brand.  Congrats... Hopefully we will get to see more of her and some of the shows past winners.

Alexander Wang's First Video Campaign

Alexander wang gathered an incredible team to shoot his first video campaign for his fall collection. The collection is Wall Street inspired. The only thing Wall Street about this video are the shreds of news paper flying around. Well, now that Im thinking about it...the shredded newspapers could symbolize the fall of wall street and the economy while all the sheer and lace pieces symbolize corporations increasing transparency. I loved the sheer fabrics, lace and detailing on the garments. The all black is very New York City.

Have Curves? Embrace & Love Them

I am naturally slim and always wanted to be curvier.  I even attempted to gain weight once and ended up losing three pounds.  Curvy women always admire my small frame however Im in admiration of theirs.  If I tell people I want to gain weight I get a blank stare.  Like they say you always want what you cannot have.

This month Cosmopolitan Australia  contains an editorial spread featuring sisters Courtney and Laura Wells. Courtney is a straight size model and Laura is a plus size model.  Courtney wears a size 10 and Laura a size 14.  I am all for the message Cosmopolitan is sending to its readers, you can be beautiful and fashionable at any size.  I would like to see more spreads like this in the future as it boosts moral.  Maybe sometime soon American publications will follow suit since Saks Fifth Avenue announced it will commence purchasing designer apparel in plus sizes.
